Computer Science and Mathematics go hand-in-hand.
Here is a recap of some basic maths: High school trigonometry. Don’t be scared by the name “trigonometry”. Really, it’s just a subject of geometry with a fancy name.
Radians:
- A single radian is the angle formed in the minor sector of a circle, where the minor arc length is the same as the radius of the circle.
- In trigonometry, angles are always radians if the angle is not explicity marked with radians or degrees. -
- The size of the angle in radians = length of the circle arc s divided by the circle radius r. (angle in radians = s/r)
- 360 degrees = 2*PI radians
- 180 degrees = PI radians
Practical Trigonometry:
- Remember SOH CAH TOA
- sinx = opposite x / hypotenuse
- cosx = adjacent x / hypotenuse
- tanx = opposite x /adjacent x
